Views Of School Committees
“This is the first time that education in New Zealand has been made less available to the children of New Zealand.” said Mr H. P. Fowler, an honorary member of the Dominion Federation of School Committees’ Associations. presenting a motion yesterday to the federation’s conference on the recent increase in university fees. The motion, on behalf of the Nelson association, said that the Government should delay action.
A vice-president, Mr T. Hill. of Otago, moved an amendment that the conference ask the Government to ensure that no students of good calibre suffered hardship because of the increased fees The amendment was carried.
