Medical Benefits
Sir,—For the last four yeans I have received an invalid benefit for which I am sincerely grateful, but doctors’ fees have to be withdrawn from my Post Office account which is now reduced to £5O. I have to pay 7s 6d for each visit and the specialist’s fee is £4 4s—refund 7s 6d. What is going to happen when my Post Office account is closed? Yes, doctors’ fees are a big worry to the sick and aged. I am quite a young woman but will require medical attention for the rest of my life but just how I am going to continue to pay doctors’ fees is a constant worry.—Yours, etc, WORRIED INVALID March 7. 1962.
