Mr W R. Oliver, chairman of the Selwyn County Council, raid the ward shou d point out to the association - executive that cost was retarding the use of the hormone. "Counties can get the hormone at wholesale rates, but they are not allowed 'o retail it at that price.” sa d the chairman <Mr C. N Maekenzie). Mr Oliver raid a similar proposal was rejected by the Government last year on the ground that the Government was spending £<2.000 a year on noxious weeds subsidies to local bodies, and it was Government policy not to compete with wholesalers or retailers. “We might get the same answer this time.” he said.
