ROYAL SOCIETY OFFICERS
Professor G. A. Knox New President Professor G. A. Knox, professor of zoology at the University of Canterbury, was elected as president of the Canterbury branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand at the annual meeting in • the Museum Lecture Theatre. Other officers elected were: vice-presidents, Messrs W. H. Bower and E. G. Turbott; secretary. Mr E. R. Mangin; treasurer, Mr C. H. Labatt; librarian. Mr C. W. Collins: council, Drs. R. M. Allison, I. D. Blair, R. A. Harrison. B. R. Penfold and W. M. Platts, and Mr E. G. S. Powell; representatives on the council of the Royal Society of New Zealand, Dr. C. EUyett and Mr C. W. Collins; chairman of mathematics and physics section. Dr. J. B. Gregory; chairman of natural history club, Mr R. K. Garlick; auditor, Mr E. Standring.
