GARDEN OF RELICS
A Step Into The Past (N Z Press Association) AUCKLAND. March 7. It is possible to step into the past in a garden in Riversdale road, Avondale Auckland. There, Mr J. Ryder, has built an old English inn which is almost as big as his neat red brick home There are also a water wheel which works, a cannon from tlie Maori Wars with a pile of cannon balls dug out of the garden, a fully equipped blacksmith’s forge of a century ago. and the first of the closed-in type model T Fords. Other relics include an old railw-ay engine and guard's van used on the Rimutaka line, and old milk, bread, and brewery waggons.
