“The Press" Special Service KAIKOURA, March 5. Prices were about in line with current rates at the Kalkoura ram and ewe fair today. However. the entry was small, and there were a number of small lots. The sheep on the whole showed the effects of the dry season. About 43 ewe lambs, 204 two-tooth ewes and 666 adult breeding ewes were sold as well as other sorts. Average to good ewe lambs sold from 33s to 365. with others at 15s 6d to 25s 6d. Wether lambs, according to condition ranged from 21s 6d to 26s for average with a single sale at t9s and plain sold from 13s to 17s 6c Shorn lambs realised 22s Two-tooth wethers sold from 4ts to 475.

A pen of Romney two-tooth ewes realised 455. and others made 235. Four-year Romney ewes made 355. 27s 6d and 235. and five-year and sound-mouth ewes ranged from 21s 6d to 23s

for average with others at Ils to 16s. In the sale of rams there was litUe demand, with South Suffolk! making Ugns, Southdowns Hgns to Signs. Romneys Ugns to 6gn» and Border Leicester ligns.
