OBSOLETE AUSTRALIAN CRUISER SOLD TO JAPAN.—H.M.A.S. Hobart at Garden Island, Sydney. She is now on her way to Japanese shipbreakers. Paying their last respects to the old cruiser are Mr L. Tuttle (left) and Mr T. Sims, who served in the Hobart from 1939 to 1945. “Why didn’t they give her a decent burial at sea instead of selling her to our old enemies?” asked Mr Tuttle. “That would have been a fitting tribute to such a grand old lady,” said Mr Sims.
