Mclntyre Has Lucky Number

BLENHEIM, Feb 28.
Peter Mclntyre, who has won first prize in Hay’s art competition. says he has a lucky number. “Mv old Army number was 579.” he told a Blenheim audience last night. “Every time I see this number on a licence plate or a telephone number I can be sure good luck will follow ”
Recently, he said, he completed an autobiographical book, “The Painted Years.” and when he telephoned a publisher he found the number was 5790.
The book was accepted and will be published later this year. Arriving in Blenheim a few days ago, he spotted a van with this number on its licence plate. Last night he was informed he had won first prize in the art competition.
