Union Plan To Incorporate
A recommendation that a New Zealand Freezing Workers’ Association be registered under the Incorporated Societies’ Act is on the agend: of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Freezing Workers’ Federation.
At present, freezing workers cannot cite employers on a national basis, under the provisions of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, because Auckland freezing workers and those at Whakatane, Tomoana, Imlay and Patea, are not members of the New Zealand federation.
If the annual meeting decides to incorporate as a society, it is expected to be additional to the present registration under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act.
