Saving Ship
The Navy League of New Zealand is organising a campaign to preserve the corvette - minesweeper. H M.N.Z.S. Kiwi, as a permanent naval attraction for visitors to Auckland. Shortly due for the scrap yard, the Kiwi participated in one of the first major actions of the newlyformed Royal New Zealand Navy when she and her sister ship. Moa. sank a large Japanese submarine off Guadacanal in January, 1943. —(P.A.)
