FA.O. Surplus Plan (IVJZ.PA.-Reutev—CoptrrtgM) ROME, February 13 Representatives of 20 nations, including Australia and New Zealand, yesterday began working out details of a £35,000.000 plan to feed the world’s hungry with surplus food. An inter - governmental committee, meeting in Rome for a week, is to develop step-by-step procedures for the experimental world food programme approved last November by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (F.A.0.), the Associated Press reported. Through the programme, nations which can afford it are to pool eash and food for countries where critical food shortages exist, or where economic and social development need stimulation.
The F A O. and the United Nations Economic and Social Council are to meet in New York in April to consider the results of the committee meeting.
