Secret Agreements
Sir,—lt may be of interest to “Cosmosian” that the Social Credit League, which has contested the last three elections, imposes no demand upon its candidates to follow the party line if in so doing he or she finds the party line at variance with his or her conscience. The only demand made upon candidates is that they abide by the Social Credit policy of monetary reform; in all other matters they are free to let their conscience be their euide. If people investigated the philosophy of Social Credit it would come as a pleasant surprise to know that there is a way out of the muddle that surrounds us: trade, loans, taxes, rates, unemployment, rape and robbery will all be seen in a new and true perspective.— Yours, etc„ JOHN FORSTER. February 12. 1962.
Sir. —The effect of statements by the Government and by such as Mr R. Wollerton. of Federated Farmers, is that incentives for over-1 seas '->anufacturers to come; to New Zealand are bad. Yet. I these same people have for I years been demanding incentives to encourage production in New Zealand. The incentives thej prefer. if course, are the mean kind like tax and death duty reductions to the wealthy at the expense of the masses, which only have the effect of altering the distribution of the existing national income in favour of the wealthy, not of increasing production, and thus the national income and the shares of all sections of the community.—Yours, etc., T. H. BTTMEAD. February 12, 1962 .
