National Anthem
Sir, —The semi-religious adulation of the British figureheads of State is largely expressed, maintained and promoted by frequent rendering of the British National Anthem. Is the ritual rendering of this over the radio, at cinemas and other occasions of public entertainment something required by law or how did the custom become so firmly established? —Yours, etc., STUDENT OF AFFAIRS. February 10, 1962.
