Orchestra's New Gong
In its recent Christchurch concerts the National Orchestra’s new 38in gong was used in the city for the first time. The huge instrument, which hangs from a wrought iron frame, arrived in Wellington • early this year. 1 Made m West Germany, the ■ gong cost £l2B. A smaller, ■ higher-pitched gong of the * same type was also bought.
