WOMEN’S CLUB
Social Function To Begin Year New members of the Canterbury Women’s Club were welcomed at a social function to officially open the club’s activities for the year last evening. The president (Mrs C. Shaw) presided and in welcoming members and friends wished them a happy and successful year. She introduced the New Year Circle leader. Mrs L. W. Ferguson Mrs J. H. Cocks arranged a programme of entertainment, and was the accompanist. Items were given by Mesdames A. Ledsham and L. Haase (vocal duets): Mrs L. Bielby (elocution); Messrs D. Manhire and B. Gainsford (vocal solos): and Mr William Langford (piano solos). About 100 attended.
