Opal Chief, probably will make an attempt on Avian Derby’s track record at the Melbourne Show Grounds within seven weeks according to the trainerdriver, K Raw. Avian Derby set the record in 1952, when he clocked a 2min Isec rate. Raw said Opal Chief would have a race first, but noth' • had been picked for him The horse was resting after winning three successive races in Sydney.
