Arahura Trot At Hokitika (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. Feb 12. The Greymouth-owned and trained Sinbad led all the way in the Arahura Trot Handicap at Hokitika tc"'iy The front marker, Gold Pegasus, broke badly at the start Russley Hanover also failed to go away and took no part in the contest Gareen. Young Peg, Young Donald, Elizabeth Dee, and Second Lady followed Sinbad in that order for the greater part of the mile. In a keen tussle along the straight Sinbad finished a little too well for Gareen to win by a long neck Second Lady did best of the remainder, to be a length and a half behind Gareen Two lengths back, Elizabeth Dee was ahead of Young Peg. Young Donald and Gold Pegasus. The Kaniere Trot Handicap was won easily by Elizabeth Dee by four lengths Gold Pegasus went away well from the limit .nd led for more than a mile He was followed by Gareen Elizabeth Dee, Young Donald Bay Prince. Russley Hanover, and Sinbad. Gareen passed Gold Pegasus before the home turn.
Elizabeth Dee had too much in reserve for her opponents in the run home Gareen held on for second, a length and a half ahead of Young Donald, which was a similar distance in front of Bav Prince. The next to finish were Russley Hanover, Second Lady. Sinbad, and Gold Pegasus.
