Support For Nominees The Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association will make every endeavour to support the nomination of Miss J. Davidson and Miss S. Rich for the New Zealand women’s team to play at Wimbledon this year. One player's family has offered to pay the £5OO required by each entrant and the association will pay some of the amount for the other player. This was deeded at last evening’s meeting of the management committee of the Can‘erbury association which will advise the New Zealand association The Neu Zealand association will provide at least £lOO a player. The team, comprising four players, will leave in early April and play matches in Britain and possibly Europe, before returning to New Zealand at the end of August. The New Zealand association hopes the team will be of sufficient calibre to earn some appearance money. Kramer's (Troupe Confirmation of the names of J. Kramers professional troupe —A. Gimeno. L. Ayala. K. Rosewall and F. Sedgman—was received at the meeting. The City Council has approved the association’s application for the four to appear at Wilding Park on Sunday. March 4. and has given the association authority to fix prices. The troupe will also play at Wilding Park on March 5.
Miss J. Mollison was granted mirmission to wear a Canterbury blazer.
