MR NASH’S PLANS
No Retirement Announcement ( N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 12. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Nash) said tonight it would be some time yet before he made any announcement on when he will retire as Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party. Mr Nash was speaking to reporters after a birthday dinner the Labour movement gave him in Parliament House.
Mr Nash said he gave guests at the dinner some idea of his thoughts on retirement, but it would be some time before he would make any formal announcement.
Tonight’s dinner was attended by members of the Parliamentary Labour Party, the Labour 'Party national executive, and the executive of the Federation of Labour Mr Nash was 80 today He wore the blue tie of the M.C.C. “Over 40” Club today.
