Cocktail Party At Addington The Horse of the Year Show ended with a cocktail party at the Addington tea kiosk on Saturday evening. About 200 guests were welcomed by the president of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Horse Society (Mr J. W. Duncan) and Mrs Duncan. Among the guests were the members of the Australian equestrian team and its manager, Mr H. Wood; the show judges, who included two women; the president of the New Zealand Horse Society (Mr B. G. Rutherford) and Mrs Rutherford; the immediate pastpresident of the society (Mr W. R. Duncan) and Mrs Duncan; representatives of firms which sponsored competitions at the show; and the Japanese rider, Mr K. Kawaguchi.
The tea kiosk was decorated with large jars of pastelcoloured late summer flowers.
