Addington Workshops Horticultural Show
Tine champion dahlia of the Addington Workshops' Horticultural Society's summer show, held in the workshops social ha-ll on Saturday, was a medium semi-cactus bloom. Lavender' Lady, exhibited by E. G. Collett. Although there were very few entries In the gladiolus section, they were aH of a high standard. The premier award in this section was won by W. S. Busch's Evangeline. An interesting entry in the decorative section was an arrangement of bullrushes, crayfish legs, driftwood and shells, in a wickerwork tray. The award of merit in the vegetable section was won by G. I. palnes, who exhibited two cucumbers. A special prize for potatoes was won by Mr V. O. McAloon
Blue ribbons were won by F M. Alexander, who exhibited six vases of outdoor-grown flowers: Mrs D. Leckle. container of mixed flowers; W. Barrell. carnation; and Mrs L. McCausland. pot plants. The judces were: Gladioli, Mr W. A. Pollard; cut flowers. Mr G. Henderson: dahlias, Messrs S. G. Prebble and E. G. Collett: vegetables. Mr L. C. Hurndell: pot plants. Mr W. G.
