Surf Life-Saving SOUTH BRIGHTON CLUB
Championships Held The South Brighton Surf LifeSaving Club held its club competitions yesterday under excellent conditions. The New Brighton senior team I was present, and competed in j some events. In the senior aurf , race a New Brighton competi- , tor (G. Dann) caught and held a good "shot.'’ which took him well back in the field to the < front, and he won by 30 yards. ( In the women’s surf race. Miss R. McKenzie, who is new to surfing, swam very well, and | won by nearly two minutes. She impressed as a possibie contender for national honours at the I New Zealand championships in a month. Results were:— Open Beltman’s Race.—Heat 1: A. Lee 1. N. Roake 2. A. Silvester 3. Heat 2: R.
