DRIVING TUITION
Lessons To Continue
At Cashmere H.S.
The introduction of driving lessons in secondary schools is no innovation at Cashmere High School where 100 pupils were given tuition last year.
This school had three classes on Friday evenings and half the 200 applicants for lessons had to be turned away, the headmaster (Mr T H. McCombs) told the school’s board of governors Classes will be resumed this year and Mr McCombs showed the board a certificate, to be signed by the dis’rict officer of the Transport Department, which will be given to those boys and girls who pass the examination.
“I firmly believe that the r'titude to driving is more important than the ability *o steer the car.” said Mr McCombs “That is something that can be taught in the classroom.”
