Invited To Hawaii
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) HONOLULU, Feb. 10. New Zealand’s sensational new world mile record holder, P. G. Snell, has agreed to run against Hawaiian athletes in June, it was announced today. The track and field chairman of the Hawaiian Amateur Athletic Association, Mr H. Yamasaki, said that Snell’s appearance in Hawaii depended upon agreement with the National Amateur Athletic Union and the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association.
Mr Yamasaki hoped also to get M. G. Halberg to compete against local runners, the Associated Press reported. Snell and Halberg stopped over in Honolulu on Friday on their way to the Los Angeles games.
