Dumping Soon In Melbourne
(N.Z. Prtsr Arm.—Copyrights MELBOURNE. February 8. Between 1000 and 2000 701 b cases of bananas are expected to be dumped in Melbourne in the next few days because of a heavy Australia, wide glut. Several hundred cares which arrived from Queensland and New South Wales in a partially ripe conditi.m have been destroyed already.
Melbourne. Sydney, and Adelaide banana merchants asked growers in Queensland and northern New South Wales today to cut their shipments by half next week. This means that growers will plough in between 30 000 and 35.000 cases of bananas. Bananas are seiline in Melbourne shops from 6d to lOd a lb.
