BURNSIDE HIGH SCHOOL

Roll Increases By 250

The roll of Burnside High School now stand* at 768, about 250 mor* than last year, the board of governor* was told at a meeting on Thursday. Of the number, 365 are boys and 403 are girl*.

The staff of the school comprise* 32 teachers, including 11 new appointment*. The increase in the roll meant it was necessary to have cycle stands for about 200 more machines, the board was told. At present there was covered accommodation for 382 cycles and open stands for 100.

It was decided to apply for the provision of additional stands.

Classes were now occupying every room, including the hall and the horticultural room. The accommodation was taxed to the maximum, said the headmaster (Mr C. Cross).
