Bonnieburn Picked For Blenheim Today

BLENHEIM. Feb. 4. Bonnieburn, the runner-up to Runfree in the Marlborough Cup on Saturday, is selected to win the Richmond Brook Handicap, the main race and first leg of the double on the second day of the Marlborough Trotting Club's annual meeting tomorrow. , Bonnieburn was successful as a two-miler in the corresponding race at Nelson last Monday and again showed good stamina yesterday to give Runfree 48 yards start and run him to two lengths. , . Stormlea did beet of the others in the Marlborough Cup. coming late on the scene with a strong finishing run. She could again be Bonnieburn's strongest rival. There will also be solid backing for Hustler. Van Brabant, and Soanfra. which were all successful on the first day. Nelson Ahoy. Siki and Caledonian Lad might battle it out for honours in the Pelorus Handicap, the second leg of the double, but luck in the early running could have a major bearing on the result with a capacity field of 17 off the limit.
