Centuries For Aim And Ellis
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 4. Centuries to G. M. Aim (University) and C. H. T. Ellis (Kilbirnie) and a storybook fold-up by Midland, highlighted Wellington senior cricket on Saturday. Midland required 27 runs in 47 minutes in its second innings to beat Karori, and at stumps it was 26 for nine. Midland lost three wickets in the last 10 minutes without scoring a run. Midland. University, Kilbirnie. and Wellington won on the first innings. Scores:—
Midland 284 and 26 for nine beat Karori 125 and 185 (J. E. Hammel 71. Sigley six for 51) on the first innings. Kilbimie 271 (C. H. T. Ellis 108. P. C. Bamao six for 64). beat St. Patrick's Old Boys 259 and 187 for five <M. C. Maher 51) on the first innings. University 104 and 242 for one (B. G Green 57, G. M. Aim 108 not out, A. D. Ward 56) beat Wellington College Old Boys 70 and 214 for nine (R. T. Barber 59. A. B. McCallum 52, A. D. Ward five for 40). Wellington 246 for seven declared and 118 for eight declared (E. Stratford six for 35) beat Onslow 239 and 78 for five on the first innings.
