“Good Keen Man” To Marry Dunedin Poet

New Zealand’s best-selling author, Barry Crump, whose two books, “A Good Keen Man” and ‘‘Hang On a Minute, Mate,” have sold more than 40,000 copies between them, and a wellknown poet, Mrs Fleur Campbell, announced their engagement in Dunedin last week.

The couple met in Wellington last month, when Mr Crump returned from a pigshooting and gold-panning trip in the Reefton area. After their marriage they will live in Dunedin for some time. Mr Crump is working on his third book, “Situations Vacant,” a novel rather than a series of anecdotes about outdoor life and New Zealand people. At present, United States and English publishers , are negotiating for the rights of his first two books, and publication in Australia will come this year. When married, Mrs Campbell will continue her work in the Otago University Library. Mrs Campbell, whose pen-name is Fleur Adcock, has had poems published in New Zealand periodicals, and last year she won ttie Wellington Festival poetry prize. A former classics lecturer at Otago University, Mrs Campbell completed examinations for the qualification of associate of the Library Association of the United Kingdom last year.
