CAMP FIRE FOR CHIEF SCOUT
Traditional camp-fire songs were sung in honour of the Chief Scout (Sir Charles Maclean) when he visited Cracroft House last evening. About 500 Canterbury guides and scouts were present to welcome and then bid farewell to their chief. When asked whether there was any particular song he would like sung, Si. Charles Maclean replied that he was enjoying everything just as it was, and would not have it changed. "There is something very wonderful and very peaceful about a camp fire, as it dies down and those around it draw nearer to it and to each other,” he said.
