THREW PIE AT CAR
Y outh Fined At Lyttelton
An 18-year-old boilermaker, Denis William Rakena, of Rapaki, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court at Lyttelton yesterday to throwing a pie at a car driven by Dr P. A. M. Heath, of Lyttelton.
The doctor was driving on the main road from Lyttelton to Governor's Bay when the pie spattered over his windscreen and blocked his view. The car swerved dangerously and nearly went off the road. Rakena was fined £3, with £1 solicitors’ fees, by Mr E. J. S. Crutchley, S.M. TRAFFIC OFFENCES Fines imposed for traffic offences were: Driving without consideration for other road users: Michael Hutchinson Maze £5. Driving motor vehicle without due care and attention: William Charles McPhail, £3; James Henshaw, £5, No warrant of fitness: Derek Gillman, £l.
