Incidents outside a Palmerston North theatre in which two constables were assaulted. were described in the Magistrate's Court at Palmerston North today when six young men appeared before Mr D. G. Sinclair. SM„ on charges ranging from disorderly behaviour to assaulting the police _ . The fracas was aTW'ed to have started because the orcuoants of one car considered that the driver of another car bad “cut them off while they were negotiating a comer. Half an hour after the street fight among the occupants of the two cars and the police, a motorist, who intervened when he saw one of the six men assaulting a youth, had a car jack and a full bottle of beer thrown at his car. The accused, who pleaded guilty and were remanded till next Wednesday for sentence, were Michael Hynes, aged 21. a freezing worker, of Fending, ob'cene language: Hatna Piri Cribb. aged 21. a shearer, of Awahuri. assair!’ing a police constable; Charles Louis Cribb, aged 22. a shearer, of Awahuri. assaulting Earl Milton Cole, and throwing a ear jack and bottle of beer at* bis car: Joseph Tait, aged 21. a freezing worker, of FeiWing. obscene language: Mike Tereo Haronga, aged 20. a freezing worker, of Awahuri. disorderly behaviour; and William Cowan, aged 20. a freezing worker, of Feilding. assaulting a constable
