CHRISTMAS GIFT WORTH £15,000
Auckland Couple Win Big Prize
(N Z Press Association) ROTORUA, January 17. An Auckland couple, Mr and Mrs Arthur Barker, of Mount Albert, have received a Christmas present of £15,000 from a Rotorua friend at present touring Australia. The gift came in the form of a ticket in a Brisbane lottery, and the couple have just been informed that their ticket was the winner. Mrs G. Vlasic, of Rotorua, who is touring Australia with her son, bought a number of tickets in the lottery and sent them to New Zealand friends as Christmas presents.
For Mr and Mrs Barker this is the second win in an Australian lottery. They previously vron a European model car valued at £3500.
