Vaccinations Enforced
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CANBERRA, Jan. 16. Auitirtlia has intensified precautions against the entry of smallpox since the current outbreak in the United Kingdom. Health Department officials told Reuter that airline companies were strictly enforcing a five-year-old rule that all air passengers leaving the United Kingdom for Australia must be vaccinated. Shipping companies also were demanding vaccination certificates before allowing passengers to embark. All ships' passengers were being checked by ships’ surgeons, who vaccinated any who had slipped through checks without certificates.
