NELSON LEADS FIJI ON FIRST INNINGS

NELSON, January 8. Nelson took a first innings lead of 15 over the touring Fijian cricket team on the first day of their match at Nelson today. Batting first the Fijians made 163 anti Nelson replied with 178. Fiji in the second innings was 11 without loss at stumps The top scorer for the day was the Fijian captain, S. Snowsill, with an aggressive 47. R. Leeds was Nelson’s most successful bowler with three for 23. S. Tavo and A. Dews each took three wickets for the Fijians who thrilled a big crowd with their fielding. Scores:—
