CAR HITS CARAVAN
Eight Youths Injured

NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan.’7. Eight youths were injured when the car in which they were passengers collided with a caravan and then crashed into a tree on the side of the highway just north of Waitara this afternoon. Two ambulances from the New Plymouth Hospital took the youths to hospital. The condition of the injured was later reported to be satisfactory. They suffered lacerations, mild concussion and shock. The injured are:—
Manuel Wallace, aged 19, Epiha road, Waitara; Bill Bailey, Main North road, Waitara; Ross Tamati, Grey street, Waitara; Tony Hauapa. Urenui; John Manu Waiongona; Donald Leatherby, Centennial avenue. Waitara: Owen Morehu S*,? atreet - Waitara, and Wally Te Waki, who is staying with Bailey. the driver. James Wallace, of Epiha road, was uninjured. The occupants of the car towing the caravan. Mr and Mrs Alan Bell, of Mount Roskill Auckland, and their sons escaped injury. The caravan was extensively damaged.
