KEEN CONTESTS AT WESTPORT

Canterbury Toe H Team Competes (From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, Jan. 7. There were some keen contests on Saturday at Westport when members of the Canterbury Toe H, and the Westport Amateur Athletic clubs took part in the first big sports meeting of the season. Honours were fairly well divided in the men’s events, but the Westport women and girls were much superior to the visitors. J. Geoghegan of Toe H won the senior men's 100 yards in good style, but M. Head, the local star, took the honours in the 220 yards event. The Westport runner. G. Morris was not extended to win the half-mile before setting off to compete against P. Snell and company at the big meeting later in the afternoon at Greymouth. D. Watten of Toe H ran very well to win the senior men's 440 yards. Result* are as follows: Senior Men 100 Yard*—Final: J.
