PALMERSTON NTH., Jan. 7. Taringama and Kawera won the double on the first day ot the Pahiatua Racing Club's meeting at Woodville on Saturday. The double combination paid £149 3s 6d for £l. Racing was held In wet weather and the track was cutting out for the latter half of the programme. „ j The totalisator handled £50,869, as against £66,726 IDs last year, a decrease of £15,857 10s.
