To Be Built
About 150 mile* from Brasilia, the new capital of Brazil, another town is being built which will provide a home for 22,000 homeless boys and girls. Th* population of this “Children'* City.” are orpan*. ranging in age from one to seventeen year*. They will be grouped in "families” of six children in seperate homes, each under the care of a married couple. The city’s adult population will number about
Administrative service* including education, finance and public works, will be organised by a municipal directorate. A technical council composed of doctor*, teachers, social worker*, engineers, lawyers, agronomists and economists will plan the town’* activities. Built on a site extending over 1700 acres about 4000 feet above sea level, the children’s city will not only have schools and training colleges of all kind*, but also museums, theatre* and libraries. It has been created under the sponsorship of the “Andre Lutz” Christian Organisation.—(UNESCO).
