Hamner Baths
Sir,—lt i* to be hoped there will be an emphatic rejection by the public of the proposals outlined for the closing of the present men’* pool at Hammer Spring* and for its substitution by a pool for mixed bathing. Hammer is at present aedahned by visitors a* providing something different. The pool facilities could certainly be improved, but for many, the relaxed freedom of the present nude bathing is Hanmer's main attraction. I suggest the Health Department ha* been misled towards It* current decision by first a false sense of economy, and secondly by pressure from one or two prominent citizens who happen to be henpecked husbands.—Yours, etc., PART-TIME NATURIST. January 8, 1982.
