HAMILTON, January 7. Killer dogs in the Taupo district have slaughtered more than £6OO worth of sheep on Lands and Survey Department blocks in the last week.

Losses amounting to thousands of pounds have been inflicted during the last 12 moi.ths. The manager of the Tuhlnggmata block (Mr L. J. O’Brien) said the position would be “desperate” for settlers he would move on to the block in 12 months. The manager of the Rangitira block (Mr F. W. Hussey) said the position was bad end the killers were liable to strike again at any time,, Since December 29, 178 sheep, valued at £534. have been killed at Tuhingamata. The Rangitira block lost about £750 worth of stock in the last 12 months.
