MELBOURNE, Jan. 4. The New Zealand film producer, Mr Roger Mirams, left for Mount Macedon, Victoria, today with a party of Australian and New Zealand children to begin making a third series of his children’s television serial, “The Adventures of the Terrible Ten.” This serial ran for a year in Australia and is now being screened in five overseas countries. Mr Mirams said today he had been encouraged to make a third series by the film’s success in Canada, where it is on national television five nights a week. He said he had a telephone call from Canada last week wanting enough episodes to run the series until June. The series is also showing in Britain, Sweden, Rhodesia, and Hong Kong, and is being dubbed with a special
sound track for Italian television. London reports are that the series has won second to top rating of the children’s films on British regional television. The producer is also hopeful of getting the series shown in the United States. A feature film of the “Terrible Ten” for theatre screening has been sent to New Zealand and will begin showing in Wellington on January 11. Three of the New Zealand children in the original cast, Joanne Mirams and John and Jeffrey Hewitt, are in the new series.
