A senior white civil servant, Dr Petrus Jacobus Olckers, 54, was sentenced yesterday to six months’ imprisonment under South Africa’s immorality Act. Dr Olckers is Director of Public Service Training in the Public Service Commission.
He was charged with attempting to commit an immoral act with two African girls. The Immorality Act bans aexual or attempted sexual relations between whites and non-whites. Half his sentence was suspended for three years on condition he was not found guilty during that period of further contravention of the
