"The Violent Drive Ball"
A pamphlet issued recently by a Japanese manufacturer of table tennis equipment gives the following amusing pen-pictures of leading players:—
Mr K. Mikl (Chuo University)—“he who is only eighteen years old won the Japanese intercollege championship in 1960, and was elected as the member to the world championships in Pekin. He who is good at speedy attack by drive long is one of the promising players in Japan.” Mr K. Kimura (Waseda University)—“he is a freshmen in the world, but is one of the top players in Japan nowadays. His left-hand shots the violent drive ball. His fan expect him wonderful activity in the world.’*
