“Miss Caroline Bay”
Leslie Nichols, aged 18, a fashion model, of Christchurch, was judged “Miss Caroline Bay. 1962.” when eight finalists appeared before the Judge (Mrs E. D. McNeill) in the Sound Shell on Tuesday evening. Dorothy Harris, aged 26. a packing trainer, of Christchurch, was second, and another Christchurch entrant. Graine McDonnell, aged 17, a model, was third. Twenty-six girls took part, elimination contests having been held on Monday afternoon and evening. First prize was £4O.
