MALE NURSE TRAINEES
New Group At Burwood
An intake of nine male nurse trainees began work at the Burwood Hospital this week. They will take the full three-year course, the same as the trainees who began at this time last year. Most of the trainees are under 30 and many of them under 25.
“The course is proving very satisfactory as far as the hospital is concerned,” said the matron (Miss S. Rolls) yesterday. “All the seven trainees of last year’s intake who remain with us passed their first professional examination, two of them with honours. But to make the course really worth while we must make sure that there is a class every year, and that it is of the same high intake standard as we have maintained up to now.”
