, —' ” UIMSCt gIUUUU from the race and into the nver through strata about 25ft to 30ft from the top of the 80ft riverbank. “Shortage of water on the last mile of the race indicated some seepage, but we didn't know where it was until some of the riverbank collapsed. It brought down some old pine trees.” Mr Howe said. Mr Howe said the council would dump a mixture of sawdust, clay and loam in the race. If this did not atop seepage, concrete might be used. Work would probably be done during the holidays, he said. “We expected some seepage problem in the race, but, oddly, we did not expect trouble in this section," Mr Howe said.
