CRANWELL SUCCESS
Queen’s Medal To City Cadet (NZ.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) CRANWELL (Lincolnshire), Dec. 19. Senior Flight Cadet M. Zotov, of Christchurch, was today awarded the Queen’s Medal for success in the passing-out examinations of the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell. Flight Cadet Zotov won his Royal Air Force cadetship when, at 19 years of age, he was a student at the University of Canterbury. Earlier he had attended Wellington College, Rongotai College.
and the Christchurch Boys’ High School. While at the Christchurch Boys’ High School in 1957 he won the New Zealand scholarship to train at the Royal Australian Air Force College at Point Cook but this was cancelled when the Government decided to suspend the award. At the University of Canterbury he studied pure mathematics. physics, and chemistry and hoped to continue such studies in England.
