THEFT OF LIQUOR
Man Gaoled For 21 Years (NZ. Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 20. Kohera Hapi, aged 27. a workman, was sent to gaol for two years and a half by Mr A. A. Coates, S.M., today for breaking and entering the Freeman's Hotel and stealing more than £lOOO worth of liquor on October 19. On a charge of stealing a quantity of groceries and four £5 notes. Hapi was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. The sentences will be concurrent. Mr Coates said that Hapi was the oldest and most experienced member of the gang which stole the liquor and was therefore the one most responsible.
