NEW GUINEA COFFEE
In the western highlands ot Papua and New Guinea, about 2,000,000 ©offee trees bearing, or approaching maturity. It is estimated that European coffee production year win be worth £400.000, and native coffee production, £25.000. By 196566 European coffee production is expected to more than double, to a value of £900,000. and native production to increase ten times, to a value of £250,000. These figures are given in the Squth Pacific Commission's newsletter.
